Abstract
This study aims to comprehensively examine the entire process of the Senior employment and social activities program and understand the essence from the perspective of policy users, based on the experiences of participants. To this end, we conducted in-depth interviews with 10 participants who participated in public and social service-oriented programs. The collected data was analyzed using Colaizzi¡¯s phenomenological approach to discover the underlying meanings of participants¡¯ statements. The results were derived with 9 categories, which are: ¡®Limited entry routes¡¯, ¡®The process of deciding to participate in the program and selecting a job¡¯, ¡®Problems in the process of working¡¯, ¡®Meaning of earning for oneself¡¯, ¡®Oneself as a social being¡¯, ¡®Growth of body and mind¡¯, ¡®Unstable but valuable job opportunities¡¯, ¡®Enhancement of efficiency and diversity¡¯, and ¡®Older adults unable to fully utilize their abilities¡¯. Based on these findings, this study derived practical and political implications for improving the Senior employment and social activities program from the perspective of policy users.
